Why can I opt in for a promotion even if my account type is not eligible?

Some promotions use your User ID (UID) to determine whether you can opt in, rather than checking the eligibility of a specific trading account at the opt-in stage. This means you may be able to opt in even if your current trading account, such as an ECN account, does not meet the promotion's account-type requirements.
 
However, opting in does not guarantee that your trading account is eligible for the promotion. Eligibility is determined based on the trading account used for the qualifying activity and the applicable promotion terms and conditions.
