What do I need to know about suspicious or prohibited trading behavior?

PU Prime is committed to providing a fair, transparent, and reliable trading environment for all clients. We recognise that every trader has their own trading style, risk tolerance, and approach to the markets. Clients are generally free to implement their own trading strategies, provided that their trading activities comply with the Client Agreement, applicable trading conditions, promotional terms, and relevant legal and regulatory requirements.

Most trading activity proceeds without issue. However, certain behaviours may be inconsistent with fair market participation or may seek to exploit features of the trading environment rather than genuine market opportunities. Where such activity is identified, PU Prime may take appropriate measures to protect the integrity of its trading environment and all clients who use it.

What Is Considered Suspicious or Prohibited Trading?

Suspicious or prohibited trading generally refers to trading behaviour that seeks to obtain an unfair advantage by exploiting pricing, execution, liquidity, leverage, technical conditions, promotional programmes, account protections, or other features of the trading environment rather than participating in genuine market activity.

The examples below are intended to provide general guidance only and are not exhaustive. The absence of a specific example does not mean that a particular trading practice is permitted. All trading activity is assessed based on its overall circumstances and consistency with the Client Agreement.

  • Coordinated Long and Short Trading
Trading activity conducted across multiple accounts or participants with the primary purpose of obtaining promotional benefits, exploiting margin treatment, or creating artificial risk-free exposure may be regarded as prohibited. Legitimate hedging or risk management within a single account is not, by itself, considered prohibited. The assessment will consider the overall purpose, structure and economic substance of the trading activity rather than the existence of offsetting positions alone.

  • Transactions Designed to Gain an Improper Advantage
Trading activity that combines CFD positions with transactions in the underlying asset, or otherwise forms part of an arrangement intended to obtain an unfair advantage, may be considered prohibited where it is inconsistent with the Client Agreement or applicable trading conditions.

  • Exploitation of Abnormal Market Conditions
Trading activity intentionally designed to exploit temporary pricing discrepancies, execution delays, latency effects, abnormal spreads, thin liquidity, or other exceptional market conditions, rather than genuine market risk, may be regarded as prohibited. This assessment considers the overall trading pattern rather than any individual transaction in isolation.

  • Misuse of Account Protections
Certain account protections, such as Negative Balance Protection, exist to safeguard eligible clients under specific circumstances. These protections are intended to reduce risk for clients and should not form part of a trading strategy. Trading activity designed to intentionally exploit such protections or improperly transfer trading risk may be considered prohibited.

  • Exploitation of Technical or Pricing Irregularities
Trading should reflect genuine market conditions. Intentionally taking advantage of technical issues, temporary pricing discrepancies, execution anomalies, or other platform irregularities that do not accurately reflect the underlying market may be regarded as prohibited. Where such issues are identified, PU Prime reserves the right to take appropriate action to preserve the integrity of its trading environment.

  • Market Manipulation and Non-Genuine Trading Activity
All trading activity should represent genuine participation in the financial markets. Trading behavior that creates artificial market activity, manipulates trading outcomes, misrepresents market interest, or otherwise undermines fair market participation may be considered prohibited. PU Prime expects clients to conduct trading activities honestly, responsibly, and in good faith.

  • Abuse of Promotions and Trading Benefits
Promotions, bonuses, rebates, loyalty programmes, and other incentives are designed to reward genuine client participation. Any attempt to misuse or exploit these programmes in a manner inconsistent with their intended purpose may be regarded as suspicious behavior. Where promotional abuse is identified, promotional benefits may be removed and additional action may be taken in accordance with the applicable agreements.

  • Fraudulent Funding or Payment Activity
Clients are expected to use funding methods that comply with PU Prime's funding policies and applicable legal requirements. Activity involving fraudulent payment methods, unauthorised funding arrangements, identify misrepresentation, or other financial misconduct may result in immediate account restrictions and any other measures permitted under applicable agreements or required by law.

  • Circumvention of Trading Conditions
Clients must not attempt to bypass product restrictions, account limitations, trading conditions, or other contractual or regulatory safeguards. Any activity intended to circumvent applicable requirements may be considered suspicious behavior and may result in protective measures being applied.

  • Other Exploitative or Abusive Conduct
PU Prime may also regard other conduct as prohibited where it is exploitative, dishonest, abusive, or inconsistent with the principles of fair dealing and good faith. This includes behaviour intended to obtain an improper advantage, exploit abnormal market conditions, misuse platform features or protections, or otherwise undermine the fairness and integrity of the trading environment. These examples are intended as general guidance and do not represent an exhaustive list of prohibited conduct.

Why Might My Trading Activity Be Reviewed?
Financial markets are constantly evolving, and market conditions can change rapidly. From time to time, trading activity may appear unusual or inconsistent with normal market participation. In these circumstances, PU Prime may review account activity to determine whether additional verification is required.
Reviews may also occur where activity appears to rely on irregular market conditions, technical anomalies, account misuse, or other circumstances that could affect the fairness, security, or integrity of the trading environment. Every review is conducted individually, taking into consideration the overall circumstances rather than any single transaction. To protect the effectiveness of our compliance and risk management framework, PU Prime does not disclose confidential monitoring methods, review criteria, or internal risk-control parameters.

Why Might Deposits or Withdrawals Require Additional Verification?
In certain situations, deposits, withdrawals, or other account requests may require additional verification before they can be processed. This helps confirm account ownership, satisfy legal and regulatory obligations, and protect client funds.
Where additional verification is necessary, PU Prime will endeavour to complete the process as efficiently as reasonably practicable. The time required may vary depending on the complexity of the matter and the availability of supporting information.

When May Account Restrictions Be Applied?
Where necessary to maintain a fair, secure, and compliant trading environment, PU Prime may apply temporary or permanent account restrictions in accordance with the Client Agreement and applicable laws or regulations.
Restrictions may be applied where account activity, funding arrangements, or other relevant circumstances require further verification or where doing so is necessary to protect clients, preserve market integrity, or comply with regulatory obligations. The decision to apply a restriction is based on the overall circumstances of the account and should not automatically be interpreted as evidence of misconduct. Each matter is assessed individually.

What Actions May PU Prime Take?
Where prohibited or suspicious trading behavior is identified, PU Prime may take appropriate action in accordance with the Client Agreement and applicable laws. Depending on the circumstances, these actions may include reversing profits arising from the relevant activity, restricting account functionality, cancelling or adjusting transactions where contractually permitted, removing promotional benefits, limiting certain account services, withholding withdrawals where legally or contractually permitted, suspending services, or terminating the trading account or related accounts.

Fair Trading Principles
PU Prime supports a broad range of legitimate trading strategies. Successful trading, active trading, high trading volume, or the use of a particular trading style does not, by itself, indicate suspicious behavior.
Our objective is not to determine whether a trading strategy is profitable, but to ensure that trading activity represents genuine market participation and complies with the applicable agreements governing our products and services. Maintaining a fair trading environment benefits all clients by promoting consistent execution standards and preserving confidence in the marketplace.

How can Clients Help Protect Their Accounts?
Clients can help maintain a secure trading experience by keeping their personal information up to date, protecting their account credentials, using payment methods registered in their own name, carefully reviewing applicable trading conditions before participating in promotions or using third-party tools, and contacting PU Prime promptly if they suspect unauthorised account access or other security concerns.

Where there is an inconsistency between this article and the applicable legal agreements, the relevant agreements shall prevail.
